Meet Captain Andy Grisenthwaite

I am located in Oswego, NY; a premier port of Lake Ontario.  My charter boat season begins mid-April targeting brown trout.  Then, as the Spring progresses, we begin chasing steelhead, lake trout and salmon into the summer months.  From my drift boat, I fish for walleye during May and salmon and trout in the Fall.

All my charter boat trips carry a “Fish Guarantee”.  If we don’t catch a fish on a Lake trip, you only pay the deposit for the day.

Broad Horizons Guide and Charter Service is operated in strict compliance with all United States Coast Guard and New York State regulations and is a Drug-free vessel.

Dwight and family came out for his second time this season. Their evening trip found us way offshore fishing a good temp break and fishing the surface for steelies, lakers, and salmon. We ended up keeping a steelie, 2 two year olds, and a laker, threw back a short king and missed 2 other bites.

Since offshore wasn't banner in the evening I decided to fish shallow for browns for their morning trip. The morning started slow but once we started to get them dialed in, we ended up 7/7 with a couple nice quality fish. Carter was flawless on the rod the whole weekend! Here's a couple pics... On Tuesday, I was honored and priviledged to volunteer my services for one day of a two day Wounded Warriors fishing event. The fishing was real good for browns and each boat did well. Fish hit on riggers, dipsies, and planer lines with natural color spoons equally well. Although the fishing and weather were good, it was more than that, it was a chance to pay back to those who have served and sacrificed in the name of our freedom. I would like to thank all Veterans for their service. One pic is of the entire group and the other is of the Veterans on my boat and the fish they kept. Tuesday was an honor and I look forward to next year!

I've got a minute to put up a quick report. Some kings have shown up and are in 60 to 110' feet of water, browns are still available in the shallower water between 15 to 30' and the lakers are still mixed throughout the water column and in their normal depths. June is looking to be a good month and I can't wait for some temp break action! (3 photos) ... See MoreSee Less

Here's Jake again with a dandy laker! It officially weighed 20lb 8oz at Larry's placing Jake currently in 9th for the laker division of the LOC. It dwarfed the 14# fish he kept to weigh minutes before this hog bit... ... See MoreSee Less
